Courier Graphics is proud to announce the installation of our new Heidelberg Speedmaster XL 106-8-P+L Hi-Speed Printing Press. With this new piece of equipment and the increased capabilities it brings, we can offer even faster prints with better quality while being more eco-friendly and presenting better value to you.
Increased Productivity and Quality Through Technology.
Previously our sheetfed press could only print on one side of the press sheet at a time. Our new Speedmaster printing press allows us to print both sides of the press sheet at the same time. The Speedmaster printing press prints one side of the sheet, and then it automatically flips the sheet over to print the back side—all in a single pass. This feature allows us to complete jobs even faster, reducing turnaround times.
Another new feature is the ability to print on substrates, such as artificial papers and plastics. For clients who prefer to do press checks onsite, the Speedmaster press will cut your time to a fraction of what it previously took. And that’s not all. There are many other benefits and features that provide exciting breakthroughs for our clients including the following: increased productivity, improved quality, immediate drying times, faster make-readies, and better coatings.
What Does This Mean for Our Clients?
15,000 impressions per hour – It’s very FAST! That means faster turn times for those HOT print projects.
Make-readies in 10 minutes or less – Again, it’s incredibly fast! Multiple press OKs will now be done in a fraction of the time.
Multiple HUV lamps throughout the press – These HUV lamps dry the ink faster, creating sharper print quality. Additionally, HUV lamps add the ability to print on plastics, carton stock, metallics, and a wide variety of specialty substrates.
Closed Loop Color – This press has the most advanced print technology in the industry. The press scans the color as it’s printing (much like our Man Roland heatset web press). This is the newest industry technology and very few sheetfed presses in the Southwest have this capability. It results in a better quality product with the absolute least amount of waste in time and materials.
Other New Technical Capabilities!
In perfecting mode, we can print 5/4 all in one pass = 4 color process + Aqueous or UV coatings over 4 color process (or 4/4 plus a coating on one side) in a single pass.
In straight mode, we can print 1 sided 9/0 = any 8 colors + Aqueous or UV coatings. This will allow more complex designs requiring special pantone colors, metallics, and opaque whites for plastics and foil in addition to 4-color process all in a single pass.
