Preparing your files.

Courier Graphics has our own PDF profile. When exporting a PDF from any ADOBE product, please export using our settings. This will ensure you get the best possible product from us. Please contact Robert Wolfe for instructions on how to export with our PDF profile or if you need any other technical assistance at 602-437-9700 or email.

  • HIGH RES PDF’s are preferred, but we can accept all file types.
  • Images are saved as 300 DPI.
  • Images are saved as CMYK not RGB.
  • Black and white images are saved as grayscale or bitmap images.
  • PMS colors are labeled and consistent throughout the piece.
  • Rich blacks are set to 30% cyan, 30% magenta, 30% yellow & 100% black.
  • Text is saved as 100% black.
  • Save as single page PDFs, not as spreads.
  • 1/8″ bleeds on all sides.
  • Type or live area should be 1/4″ from trim.
  • Please Compress before sending by using Zip or Stuffit. (For instructions click here).

Note: Files may be discarded if valid information is not provided. Please contact us if you would like to setup a permanent username and password. You will gain greater functionality with a permanent user account.

Compress File With Mac OS X

  1. Right click on folder where all files and fonts reside (control click when using a one button mouse). If you are unsure where all necessary files are; you should use the Package feature within InDesign or Collect for Output in Quark Xpress.
  2. Choose > Create Archive from menu. Try to name your folder something relevant to your project and company name.
  3. This will create a compressed file in the same location of the folder you just compressed. It should be the same name of your folder with a .zip extension.
  4. You have now created a file that is suitable to be transferred safely over the Internet.
  5. There is a 2 GB file size limit when using our website to transfer files.
  6. Stuffit is also suitable for compressing Files. Click here for more info.
